This program partners with public and private sectors to bring knowledge, skills, job opportunities, and networking to our communities. This program was created because many of our members continue to struggle to find employment, and internship opportunities.

The community advocacy group are comprised of community members who are interested in staying connected in the legislative and municipal policy making. Many of the members are from the LEO program who want to have relationship with state and local policy makers. This group frequently goes to the State House to put their skills into actions.

The LEO program is held bimonthly to engage community members in a three day workshop about community focus groups, systemic and oppressive institutions, power dynamics, elections, and more. We hold and facilitate trainings on ways to participate in civic engagement, community organizing and policy making. After graduating from the program, participants become advocate at the state and local level for more equitable policy making.

COA is deeply involved in partnership, and collaboration to hold community gatherings that showcase a rich, diverse, and thriving community. From back to school events, women’s circles, youth gatherings, bringing authors and experts from both out and in state, we value investing in community!
